Todo vuelve - Everything comes back

Quienes hacemos miniaturas solemos tener "etapas". Son momentos en los que no podemos para de hacer alguna clase de minis, para luego dejarlas de lado. En mi caso particular, no siempre quedan totalmente de lado, porque simepre alguien está pidiendo algo que en ese momento no estoy haciendo y he de volver a realizarlo. Pero cuando volvemos a lo que antes hacíamos, a veces nuestras neuronas logran hacer una nueva conección y sale algo como lo de antes, pero mejor. En el caso particular de lo que les estoy hablando es que he vuelto a realizar crasas y suculentas. Durante una semana estuve muy enganchado, y el resultado es el que ven en las fotos.
También estuve experimentando cn tortas y pasteles, pero eso otra historia.

Those who makes miniatures in several kinds use to have "hooks". I call so those moments when you can't stop making a certain type of miniature, that you eventually leave aside (in my case, not totally aside, for there's always someona asking me to make them some of those things). Eventually the "hooks" comes back, and sometimes our brain finds a new way to make an old thing, and hopefully better. In this particular case it's about succulent plants (so long from my last cacti garden). During a hole week I was really in the mood for succulents, and you can see the out come in the pictures.
I was also experimenting with cakes and pies, but that's another story.

Tiempo de cupcakes - Cupcake's time

El título lo dice por sí solito.
Es que ante la cantidad de cupcakes dando vueltas (tanto en miniatura como en la vida cotidiana), y a algunos pedidos puntuales, aquí van estas imágenes... hay mucho más tras bamblinas.

Title says it all by itself. Due to the huge amount of cupcakes here and there (both in miniature and in real life), and some specific requests, here are my own cupcakes... many more behind the scenario.

Peceras - Fishbowls

Hola!! Acá les dejo fotos de algunas de las peceras más de cerca. Es complicado tomarles fotos, reflejan mucho la luz, y al igual que en las peceras redondas reales, la refracción hace que sea difícil ver el tamaño real de los peces (por eso las vistas desde arriba). Los peces miden entre 1 y 1,8 cm, y los hice de tres tipos: carassius, goldfish y "telescópico" (el negro de ojos saltones). Todo hecho a mano, desde el decorado hasta la última aleta.

Hello! Here you have closeups of some of the fishbowls of the previous post. It's hard to take good shots, glass and resin reflect a lot of light, and refraction -as in real life roub fishbowls- makes it hard to apreciate the real size of the fish inside (that's why the views from above). Fish are 1 to 1,8 cm long. There are three kinds of the: carassius, goldfish and "telescopic" (the black one with jumping eyes). Everything is handmade, from the scenery to the last wing of the fish.

Jumping Jack Flash - Expohobby preview

Esta semana ha sido una semana de seguir poniendo pelo a animalitos. Y no sólo eso: también una conejera para poder albergar a los nuevos y viejos conejos, y a los conejitos de indias.

Los conejos que no tienen pelo aplicado, están realizados en arcilla polimérica, y los de pelo aplicado, están modelados en porcelana fría y luego se les puso el pelaje.

Una escena encantadora de realizar, que será parte de la mesa que presentaremos en Expohobby 3, los días 15, 16 y 17 de abril.

This week I've kept on furring little fellows. And not just that: I also made a rabbit huthch to give shelter to the new and old bunnies, and the guinea pigs as well.

The rabbits with no fur are made out of polymer clay, while the furred ones, are modelled in cold porcelain and the flocking applied.

This was a lovely scene to make, and it'll be part of our display table at Expohobby ·, april 15th, 16th and 17th.
